MSI recently announced the MSI Wind U100 Plus, which is an upgrade for the first netbook from MSI, Wind U100.
The MSI Wind U100 Plus is equipped with a faster processor, 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280, and also a higher capacity battery which can last up to 7 hours of battery life. Other than that, the specs for the MSI Wind U100 Plus is identical to its predecessor.

Just in time for Valentine's day, two of the best netbook manufacturers, MSI and Samsung have announced new pink netbooks for this special day.
First, MSI will be releasing the Valentine Edition of its Wind U100 netbook. This model of netbook from MSI is already available in Romantic pink previously, but the Valentine Edition boasts a limited edition label, with a 6-cell battery, 160GB hard drive and a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor. MSI will be giving away 15 of these Valentine Edition Winds at http://www.msimobile.com/Valentine.aspx. All you need to do is upload a photo of you and your loved one to participate. If you are not one of the winners, you can still purchase it from MSI for $429.99.
MSI is not the only company that wants in on some Valentine’s day profits. After the announcement of Valentine Edition’s edition Wind U100, a new model of pink Samsung NC10 is also spotted to be available for pre-order on 2 UK online retailers: dabs.com and overclockers.co.uk. This new model of pink NC10, NP-NC10-KA04UK, will comes with 1.60GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB hard drive, a 6-cell battery, and of course a lovely pink color. Currently, it seems to be available in UK only.

"Instead of putting a mini-notebook’s insides into a larger case (as with Dell’s Inspiron Mini 12), MSI took the guts of a budget mainstream notebook and crammed them into a 12-inch chassis to create the VR220. And as with most budget systems, you have to expect budget performance. While it costs nearly half as much as more traditional 12-inch notebooks, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X200, it’s not nearly as light, nor does it have the endurance of those systems. But those machines are meant for road warriors with expense accounts. The MSI VR220 is intended for students who need something relatively light and inexpensive for day-to-day tasks. As long as you can live with its subpar keyboard and relatively large size, MSI’s netbook alternative is worth a look."
Other than the black color which may best suit those looking for something more demure, the MSI VR220 YA Edition comes in another 3 attractive summer shades, which include Denim Blue, WASABI Green, and Coral Pink. While Carol pink is definitely our favorite out of all, the other two colors will also be attention getters.

We previously post about a new laptop model Wind from MSI, which is yet to be released in US. Last Friday, the company has confirmed that the Wind model laptop will be released in US on June.
The US version of Wind will cost $549 for the Windows XP version, and $399 for the Novell's SUSE Linux OS version. Both version have the following specs: 1.6GHz Atom microprocessor, 80Gb hard disk drive (HDD), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, sport 1.3-megapixel Webcams and three USB (universal serial bus) ports. The difference between the 2 version are: 1GB RAM and 6-cell battery for XP while 512MB and 3-cell battery for Linux version.
The Wind model laptop that's going to be released in US will be the 10" version. The 8.9" version will not be marketed in US.
The Wind PC is the latest laptop model from MSI, which was recently announced at CeBIT 2008. It will be available in two version: 8" and 10". Both will be supporting a relatively high resolution of 1024 x 600. The details of the MSI Wind PC is as follow:

The MSI PR210-Pink is a 12.1-inch ultraportable laptop with an attractive metallic cover. It's built on the AMD Turion64 dual core processor. With a WorldBench 6 score of 55, it's hardly a speed demon, but will be enough to tackle most everyday tasks without much struggle. One of the good thing for the MSI PR210 machine, is the long battery life. In the drain tests done by CNet on this machine, it impressively lasted for three full hours. We would expect the battery life to last even longer during the normal use. The trade-off for the decent battery life however, is the relatively longer time it takes to be fully charged, which some people might find it irritating.
In terms of portability, With the weight of 4.6 pounds and 12.1-inch screen, the MSI PR210 laptop falls in between the ultraportable and the thin-and-light class. It's smaller than an ordinary thin-and-light laptop, and bulkier than most ultraportable laptops. One of the factor that contribute to its weight, is the metal and plastic case, which also makes it feel remarkably sturdy.
As an ultraportable class of laptop, it's quite unexpected to have a HDMI port and a TV antenna connector, and MSI PR210 has them both. Other than that, the machine offers a fairly typical connections and ports of an ultraportable laptop.
In terms of display, the MSI PR210 features a sharp 1,280x800 native resolution, giving a crisp and colorful display. Our complaint is however the graphic controller with the games frame rate of 5 frames per second, which is less than thrilling.

In summary, the MSI PR210-Pink is looking good, with various choice of case colors (blue and green besides pink). The good thing about this laptop is the long battery life, HDMI port and TV Tuner, and the reasonable price. On the other hand, the MSI PR210's gaming and WorldBench scores isn't that good. But bottom line, this colorful laptop still offers a decent feature set for typical business executive and laptop users valuing entertainment capabilities.
